It is a week later…

And after a busy week, I have finally edited and uploaded the audio from last weeks bash. Firstly let me apologise by saying that I don’t have Rich’s shows as he uses a different encoder (Winamp DSP plugin facts fans) to the rest of us and I forgot that it doesn’t record the stream. Sorry mate.

Anyway, I have edited out the starts and finishes and encoded at a lower bitrate, so they are smaller to download, other than that they are as the day that they were made, all of the cock ups are left in. :D

They are in 22khz so not as good as broadcast quality, but it makes them more manageable. If you really like I still have the originals too. Just remember that there is some swearing in there folks, so cover the little ‘uns (and Van’s) ears.

Van and ted’s DJ off – 55MB

trev’s show – 43.8MB

Everyone towards the endĀ  – 38.7MB

I hope you enjoy them, feedback welcome as always folks.

Apres Bash

Woo! It all went remarkably well, and a great night was had by almost everyone. Thank you to everyone for coming, and everyone who listened and put up with the half arsed antics of a bunch of merrily drunk amateur DJ’s!

A real thank you to Van and my Mum and Dad for the food, and all of the work that they did, it was a fantastic spread.

Pictures you say? Ok, I can do that

I will upload the audio later in the week, but it will need a bit of work, and frankly I am very tired after very little sleep.

Thanks again everyone, it was nice to meet some more FTL type people too.

Listen again?

Well, the first favourites show went pretty well I think, lot’s of different kinds of music and people played well together, so it is all good.TM ;)

Anyway, there will be another one I fear, as people are still sending me their favourite songs, so it would be a pleasure. In the meantime, if you missed it you can listen again, as they are always banging on about on BBC radio. If they can do it, so can we!

25th January’s favourite’s show, now in a more compact 100MB, in 22Khz.
Anyway, onwards and upwards towards the 27th January, the FTLFM bash at my house! We have loads of DJ’s and listeners coming, and a few B3tans as well, so the lube is on standby. If you are interested in listening, and let’s face what else would you have to do on a Saturday night except listen to a bunch of drunken internet nobodies, you can go to FTLFM

It promises to be, well, it promises to be something. That’s for sure.

The big move

Well, everything that I need to run a radio show from downstairs is, well, downstairs. I did a trial run show tonight, and the mic didn’t work at first and then my external hard drive crashed twice. Other than that, it was all flawless. :D

I am doing the favourites show on Thursday, which is becoming so big that I may have to stretch it over 2 shows. I am going to upload the shows afterwards and place links from here so that you can play them from here or download them.

I will do the same for the FTL bash afterwards too, but I might play that out via FTL again too, if no one minds.

FTLers Favourites

A big week or two for myself and FTLFM. Firstly, next Thursday I will be doing an unusual show. I have asked all of the FTL regulars to send me a list of their five favourite songs, and possibly a little description of what they love about it. As always the FTL people have done me proud, and I have loads already. So from 8 next week I will be playing those tunes out and talking about why they like them.

Then on the 27th, the following Saturday it’s the FTL bash! A chance for a bunch of like minded music loving, internet wielding drunks to dance the night away. Can’t make it? Fear not, we will be playing the whole thing out on FTLFM. *

It will truly be an interactive night, as you can join in too, with the power of the internet at FTLFM. It would be nice to see you all there.
* There will be swearing

No blog’s first post is going to be much cop is it?

Hello and welcome to my first venture into the blogsphere (and that is a crap name for it, oh yes). Actually that isn’t quite true, I used to have a blog on my first website, before there were blogs, but I never updated it as it meant mucking with the HTML, and I am essentially quite lazy.

This blog replaces the Comedy Cafe forum, that frankly had become a nightmare to administrate, considering the number of hits it was getting. The podcast blog is still where it always was, and we now have the URL www.thenorthsouthdivide.com, thanks to james! The podcast blog will remain as is, announcing all episodes as they appear, if you want to subscribe to the podcast you need to go there. This is my blog, a lot of it NSD related, but not all of it.

So it is all systems go with the next podcast, tentatively entitled “Salvage”, not sure if that will stick or not. Busy month this one for me though, so it will probably be next month before it appears. On the 27th it is my FTLFM bash, which is rapidly becoming much bigger than I ever expected, as it started as an excuse for Benny on the Loose and myself to do a drunken radio show at my house.

Anyhoo, stuff to do. I still have to get a proper handle on how to set this blog up, so things may change for a while. I will be adding links to bits and pieces as I go.

Thanks for your time folks,

trev
