Well, this week I decided to try and install Kubuntu Linux as dual boot on my desktop PC. I have been running just Linux on my laptop for some time now, and I felt that I wanted to try it on my main PC. There are still a few Windows programs that I cling to, music making and the sync for my PDA mainly.
First problem, I have 2 80Gb HDD’s in my PC, striped as RAID into one 160Gb drive. Kubuntu didn’t like this as I was using motherboard based (GigaByte) software RAID, which is not supported. I had to turn them back into 2 seperate drives and then reinstall Windows, and then install Kubuntu on top. That worked, and I am now in the middle of getting them both working the way that I want. Which I find takes all of the time after an install.
Anyway, sorry it’s not funny but factual, but I have had a long working day and I am very tired.
Ta ra folks
